What is DEFT?

All payments are handled via the DEFT payment system - so how can I make payments?


What is DEFT?

A system allowing easy, secure payments to your biller using a DEFT reference number. 

You can make one-off payments online by card without registering on www.deft.com.au and selecting Pay Now option. 

Alternatively, you can register for DEFT account, which allows you to make one-off, future-dated, or recurring payments via nominated card or bank details. Registering for DEFT provides additional benefits such as the ability to keep track of your payment history and easy management of multiple reference numbers. You will also receive email notifications when payments are made and when scheduled payments are unsuccessful.

 What ways can I make a payment?

You can make DEFT payments by:

  • You can pay using BPAY via your bank’s app or online banking.
  • Biller Code is 96503 and your reference number can be located on your levy notice
     

 

  •  set up one-off or recurring payments from your bank account, debit or credit card. 
    (American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard and Visa cards are accepted. Transaction fees applicable noted below)

 

  • Pay in-store at Australia Post via eftpos (use cheque or savings option as cannot pay by credit) or cheque. 
  • You’ll need a barcode generated by your biller. Please take copy of your levy notice along with you to the post office. 

 

 

How to set up recurring payment (direct debit) with DEFT?

To set up recurring (direct debit) payments please visit DEFT website and register/login to your DEFT account. 

Click the "make a payment button" and select recurring payment option to set up recurring payments from your nominated account. For further guidance on setting recurring payments refer to the DEFT Payer guide (Page 12)
