- The Council of the Strata Company (CSC) is a group of between 3 & 7 lot owners who are elected to be on the Strata Company's Council at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- They perform the functions of the Strata Company until the next AGM.
- The Council of the Strata Company is the first point of contact for the Strata Manager and for the other lot owners.
- The Strata Manager works closely with the Council of the Strata Company to ensure the smooth running of the complex, by making decisions & keeping the Council of the Strata Company informed about issues within the complex.
The Council of the Strata Company is nominated at the AGM. Any owner can be nominated for a position on the CSC.
Once nominated, these individuals remain on the council until the next AGM.
Office bearer positions are appointed at the first Council meeting following an AGM (Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary)

Sadie and Ella-Rose have recently purchased 2 lots within a single story complex of 8 units. At the AGM, When nominations are being received, only one other owner nominated. It had been this way for a long time as all other owners state that they are too busy and due to this, there has not been a Council of the Strata Company for many years.
Sadie and Ella-Rose nominated themselves and the three owners then become the Council of the Strata Company.
Having a Council of the Strata Company means that items are discussed and can be addressed. Suggestions are put forward to the Council of the Strata Company from other owners, and quotes are obtained by the Strata Manager.
The complex now looks well cared for and other owners have noticed. This is because three of the owners volunteered their time and formed an effective Council of the Strata Company.
