Termites (or white ants) cause serious structural damage to strata buildings every year and due to insurance policy exclusions, owners will generally have to pay to fix the damage themselves.

As part of the preventative maintenance of any strata complex, an annual pest inspection is recommended. The inspector will look for evidence of termites, borers, wood rot and damp and report back on their findings.

Finding evidence of termites, enables owners to have treatments carried out which will destroy the infestation. This will limit further damage and contain the problem, which is why we recommend your Strata Company arrange an inspection of the common property each year.
